Ok. ive tested it with Darth today and got a lot of duels. its working good. Also tested it with BigKill, he got some problems with fps.(his HW problem, he will fix it) --- Now i know what i wanted post.. Shields some of baes sold cannot be mouted. Only shield can be mounted when it has H.F(heavy fighter) in its name. There are some without it.(like Protector lvl 8 shield).
Missions... yeah it might be but on very far distance from pvp area...or in diff system ? It would be cool if npc's would be moded. (some moded missions against eagles ?)

i like the sound of missions against eagles .. with the same weps as us .. so if you ever log in by yourself .. you can still do something apart from fly around aimlessly!

man i got a bad lagg problem there too its for sure partially cause of me but server isnt that far like FLU so getting a ping like 300+ was wierd and couldnt do nothing

Ok guys, I can replicate Tekagi's base no problem now (I can almost do with my eyes shut lolz) but we still have one tiny problem - we can't dock on the space arch because it has a shield. I tried many ways to overcome this, like change the base faction to neutral, change certain values in the code, etc. But nothing seems to let me in. I did find one way to get in and that is to hover near the shield then alt-F4 out of game. On return I was inside the shield and therefore able to dock. I fear it requires some deeper coding technique to switch the thing down but, for the life of me, I don't know I had a browse on Lancers Reactor but ended up going round in circles. If anyone has any idea how this can be done, please please please post it here, as me and baldness go together like a motorbike and a chocolate ashtray!! Many thanks ps. Can I get some feedback on the weekend's server activity? How did you find it, what did you like, what did you not like, what would you like to see in next release, etc....

So one step closer to Tekagis Hmm did u tried experiment with base load-out ? Well ill ask CCat when ill see him. He is one of 3 mod developers on FLU server. Any idea how can be splashscreen added to mod ?.(during game start). Ill make one in psp. I would also preffer bit darker system than last one. Colour scheme like Tau29 or Bering.(bering is preety nice, bit warm yellow but very nice place)

Yeah please speak to CCat. Any help would be appreciated! Colour scheme already altered to a black background and yellow light source. the annoying triangle stars have gone and yes, I did play around with load-out on base (with no real success.) As for the splash screen, not done any research on that yet, but we can easily have our own Fang movie playing at the start (replace the video sequence with a file of the same name) but I fear that is not what you want. Either way I don't think a splashy will be too difficult to drop in. Caused by high latency (noise) on your local internet line. I get that sometimes myself Catch me on msn and we can run some tests.

We got a building grant XD Now that's out the way, time to get base loadout corrected. Some equipment needs removed and other stuff put in. Also working on missions in tohoku (JH in centre of mouth) and modding npc ships if I can. Watch this space.....

Working on making the base more deadly atm.. problem is I may need to remake the main part of the base to get the better wep loadouts. I got a lot of useful info from Ccat on how to do this but the way I made the base prevents that knowledge being applied to it. (hope that made sense) I seem to have trouble getting the guns right after the way I modded the base so thanx for the alternative method Ccat so...... while I sip on my Southern Comfort and light yet another big one I'm gonna put my feet up and enjoy the rest of the evening in mod-less peace. mmm left-over easter eggs (drool) later!

Base loadout fixed - Base Weps are now deadly (if you sit still lol) - Still working on the accuracy of the base weps but regardless of that, they do seem to be working.
Still getting bother when trying to replace the Freelancer splashscreen with our own. All I get is a blank screen after the vids when I use our own picture. I'll read up on this and grab a mod that already has a custom screeny in it.
The Fang base is pretty much near completion (with the exception of some equipment changes) and I'm now concentrating on a mission base and modding the NPC ships/weps in Tohoku.
I'll keep you all updated as and when I get time to work on it.

Whilst browsing for answers to error messages in Freelancer Explorer, I came across the EOA players Consortium ( eoa.seriouszone.com ) and discovered they have done a lot to improve the game's engine with their latest "quickfix" patch. This may (or may not) help to improve connection issues for some of our members, while on our vanilla server, but I am recommending everyone to download and install this patch to improve overall systems compatability. HI again,
Ok - still not had much time on the mod yet, but here is where we're at:
We have our own in-game faction, or should I say, I know how to create our own in-game faction. I tested this last week and was successful in creating the -=|FANG|=- faction and it showed in the drop-down lists in FLE. Great you think, but when it came to running the mod, FLserver crashed on player creation. I have to say I impressed myself by at least getting FLE to recognise it after 1st attempt. I'll try adding it again and see if I can iron out the bugs this time. I think I know where I went wrong.
I am also looking at mission parameters and npc loadouts for them. The initial agreement is to create some mission bases which offer high level missions of varying difficulty. We (raven and I) discussed this and agreed we should have relatively easy missions to begin for n0Obz (but will have an element of npc toughness to keep them on their toes) rising to uber-difficult npcs in eagles with full nommie loadouts. Of course, we will set reward levels accordingly.
A lot of these ideas are still theoretical at the moment, and although I'm not producing much for you guys just now, please be aware I'm doing a huge amount of reading/learning on the subject as well.
If there are any willing volunteers out there who wouldn't mind a bit of mod training, please let us know. I could do with some fresh minds to feed on *drool*
So, lunch break almost over, I must go and feed my bloodstream with some much needed nicotine.

Thanks for the update raven. I'll get started on the missions/npcs this week I hope. I figured out why FLserver was crashing.... I should have deleted the old server accounts files before running the faction'd mod Anyway it's a bit too late as I deleted it in protest ;D but I have the technology - I can rebuild it Just as a closing note - I know this is a busy time for everyone in study, what with exams and all, so I don't expect much feedback over the next few weeks/months. That's kl dudes I'll just keep posting updates on the progress and you can catch up anytime. Best of luck to you guys.
