Rule 1: No Insulting, mocking or degrading other players
Rule 2: No dock camping players while launching.
First let me define dock camping, this is where a player has no control over his/her ship whilst in the auto launch sequence. A player can only be fired upon when he/she is seen to accelerate, has visibly turned his/her ship or has traveled far enough to be clear of the auto launch sequence. The latter case is the dubious one, you all know how long the auto launch sequence is so a bit of common sense and courtesy is called for here. Do not put us in a situation where Admin/SP have to get involved in silly disputes.
It is a very different situation when a player is docking. Players can be fired on right up to the last second as once the auto dock sequence takes over you cannot die.
This rule does not apply to jump gates, jump holes / trade lanes etc.
Rule 3: The Sanctuary of New York. New York is a Non-PVP Zone and you will not be allowed to physically shoot another player in that system. You can shoot the NPC and and they can shoot back and kill you but NOT Player Characters.
Therefore, if you inflame a situation outside of New York and run to it for Sanctuary, then that is allowed BUT if you continue to inflame the situation whilst under the santuary of New York, you will in the first instance be kicked from the server, if you come on and continue the incident you will be kicked to a prison system where you character will not be able to leave until a predetermined time.
Remember New York is a system to allow new members to set up with ease and introduce them to our universe.
Rule 4: All Chars must be tagged if you are in a clan. (Including chars across multiple accounts)
---- You will be given 5 days to change over character tag. (When joining /leaving a clan) May change if circumstances are mitigating e.g. you go on holiday
Rule 5: Killing players is part of the game. But for players under level 45 cannot be killed, they cannot defend themselves. It only applies to independent players only under level 45 who don't have any other chars over level 45.
For tagged Clan Tagged Characters there is no rule. It is For Clans protect the lower level members.
Exemptions to rule #5:
#1, Michigan is a PvP system; anyone can attack you at any time for as long as they want in here. If you don't wanna be attacked, leave Michigan. If a player has asked to leave Michigan they must be allowed to, if they inflame the situation with system chat or firing on another player they are fair game.
#2, Clan Systems, If you are being attacked by the owners of that system then you cannot ask them to stop, you must leave the system, if you don't leave, do not complain about them killing you over and over.
#3, Clan Systems, A clan defending their system cannot ask an attacking clan to leave, it is up to you to defend your system. Rally the troops and fight back.
Rule 6: Admins/SP word is final (in Game or on the Forum), any protests must be sent to an Admin/SP staff via PM on the Forum.
Rule 7: No Mods of any kind are tolerated. Except for the Colours Mod.
Rule 8: No inappropriate names or language in system chat.
Rule 9: No exploiting of bugs in The Colours Mod or Freelancer. If you find a bug please report it to an admin.
Rule 10: Assaultus/Torneo/Michigan - When a tourney is happening there is No PvP allowed unless Admin grants it.
Admins reserve the right to intervene if they feel that players are being abused, and an admins word is final.
Rule 11: Battleships
- Battleships will not be refunded just because you don't like them.
- Battleships will not be refunded if you are kicked out of a clan.
- Battleships will not be refunded if you decide to change your name.
- Battleships may be refunded if you voluntarily leave a clan under good condiditions and need to change your tag.
Admin will contact the Clan leader to ensure member left on good terms.
- It is down to the admin to decide and his/her word is final.
Rule 12:
Do not accuse players in game of cheating, if you do a 24 hour ban will occur, bring it to the attention of the Admin/SP instead.

Creation of Character Names in Game or the Forum
Please note that when you choose a character name it must meet the following requirements from this point foward:
1-it must be a name, not a just a random number or letters
2-it must not contain any characters that are not on the standard english keyboard
3-it must not be vulgar
4-it must not be the same as a tagged character (if you are unsure no worries but we may ask you to change it)
5-For Spelling of character names - if it can't be typed one key press or one key press with shift then it's not allowed.
