Here is a copy of an email sent to BP on lancers

I'm not sure what's going on with the global server.
We received this message from Microsoft operations.
Freelancer Global Servers down as of tonight 8/12 at 7:00pm US Central Time.
What exactly it means I don't know, that's all that was in the email.

If we hear anything it will be posted in the news.
If Microsoft has shut down the global server that does not mean the end to Multiplayer.
We will post all the online Multiplayer servers IP's and how to connect to the server of your choice.
Of coarse the server operators will have to submit their IP numbers so that they can be posted here on Lancers Reactor.

Heh if it isnt just some maintance, then i guess MS ended all his gamesuport for FL. *sigh*

then I must say that it was preety well timed. cos...
About 2 days before that happened, some of us called Game (on EU) dead and left...
About 1/2 day before that happened, i checked IP of one of our guests and it said Microsoft Corp lol
And now....list is down. xD

i think ill maybe stop believe on occurrences hehe

lets say that theres now about at most 200 people same time (just a fake number)
in the past it wouldve been 10.000 or something like that ...

but if its true it will be very interesting to see what will happen...
i can guess that ppl will group more on well known servers(Void,Colours,EU,Jolt...) for a while..
..but also no or very few new players will start play Multiplayer...
